01 / Why we built it

There was a gap, and businesses needed someone to fill it.

For decades, the cybersecurity industry has been built around enterprises. Fortune 500s with internal security teams. Banks with two-dozen-person compliance departments. Government contractors with budgets bigger than most towns. All of them well-served.

Meanwhile, the regulated small businesses that keep the country running, the dental office, the regional credit union, the two-person insurance agency, were handed two bad options: pay enterprise prices for advice that didn't fit, or hire a cybersecurity firm that doubled as a tool reseller, earned commissions on what they recommended, and used assessments as an opening to upsell. Neither model serves these businesses well. The first is unaffordable. The second has a conflict of interest baked into every finding.

Complyn was built to be the third option. A trusted partner who will guide you, focused on what you actually need. We make our living on the quality of our assessments and the strength of our advisory relationships. Not on what we can sell you afterward.

02 / The founder story

A regional credit union was days from regulatory intervention. We turned it into one of the most secure in the country.

Our founder spent years as the cybersecurity director of a regional credit union. The work that team did is the foundation of everything Complyn does today. The institution is confidential under NDA, but the story is worth telling.

  1. Stage 01 / The problem

NCUA was about to step in.

A regional credit union approached our founder in crisis. Their cybersecurity had fallen far enough behind regulatory expectations that the National Credit Union Administration was preparing to take action. For a financial cooperative, that's not a slap on the wrist. That's existential. Member trust, growth, partnerships, and the charter itself were all at risk.

  2. Stage 02 / The work

    A ground-up security program.

Our founder led a complete rebuild of the credit union's cybersecurity from the ground up. We started with assessments and tests to find the weakest areas, built a prioritized roadmap, then got to work implementing real protection from the member data outward. Every step was documented in detail. What we changed, why we changed it, what the result was. That paper trail became more than an audit defense. It became a reference the rest of the organization used to do their own jobs better.

  3. Stage 03 / The outcome

Top 10% most secure in the nation. Nationwide charter.

The NCUA examiner called it "the most significant security improvement he had ever seen," placing the institution in the top 10% most secure credit unions in the country. That security posture became the foundation for something even bigger: a successful application for a nationwide field of membership. The credit union now serves members across all 50 states, a direct downstream result of the trust their security program earned with regulators.

Our founder proved that even a small organization can achieve massive results quickly, at the same class of security as the largest in the country.

Complyn exists to bring that same standard to every regulated business we serve. The details differ. The principle doesn't.

03 / In their own words

What our clients actually say.

Four real clients. Four real businesses. These reviews are from clients who've worked with our founder over the years and trust him to keep doing the work.

Complyn was upfront with me and helped me understand what I needed to secure my business. I did not feel like they were trying to upsell me any extra features I didn't need. Assuming everything stays this great I feel no need to find another vendor!

04 / An honest disclaimer

What we're not.

Most about pages only tell you what a company is. We'll tell you what we're not, too. It saves both of us time.

We don't sell security tools.

No commissions, no kickbacks, no margin on the products we recommend. When we identify a gap, the recommendation is what the client needs, not what pays us more. That's the whole point.

We're not a faceless firm.

When you call Complyn, you reach us. Not a tier-one helpdesk in another country. Not a queue. Not a chatbot. Real humans, on Mountain Time, who know your business by name.

We won't scare you into buying.

You'll never get a "your business is one click from ruin" pitch from us. We'll show you the gaps, explain what closes them, and let you decide.

We won't compete on price.

Our pricing is fair, transparent, and built around the actual work. We're not the cheapest option, and we wouldn't trust a compliance firm that was. We charge what it costs to do this right, and we explain every dollar.

05 / The team

Some of the faces you'll see along the way.

When you work with Complyn, you work with the people whose names are on the firm. No layers, no handoffs, no junior consultants. The same humans who win the engagement are the ones who deliver it.
